Skipper's maintenance division, GTA Engineering Nigeria Limited has successfully reverse-engineered and completed the repair of 270MVA 345KV/16kV Shell type Generator Transformer, the largest ever Transformer repaired in West Africa, for EGBIN Electric Power Plc. Egbin Power Plc is the largest power generating station in Nigeria with an installed capacity of 1,320 MW consisting of 6 Units of 220MW each. With succesfull commissioning of this transformer on 19th January 2018, GTA​ joins a league of the few select ​service company in ​world which have successfully engineered, ​repaired and tested 270 MVA, generator transformers.​​

GTA is the only world class facility to repair, rewind, overhaul and test Power Transformers upro 300MVA , 400kV in West Africa. GTA team has expertise to repair Reactors, Shunt Reactors, Series Reactors, Induction and Arc Furnace Transformers, EHV CTs, VTS, Circuit Breakers and Control/Protection/SCADA Panels of any make.​Presently GTA has number of generators & turbines ranging from 5MW to 125MW under minor & major overhaul/repair.
